McCutchin comes out of Austin, Texas, where he currently attends LBJ High School. According the the 247Sports Composite, McCutchin is the No. 7 cornerback in the class of 2021, and is the No. 121 overall player.

McCutchin measures 6-foot-1, and weighs 175 pounds, giving him good size for his position. He also just finished his sophomores, so might still physically develop his frame.

For a defensive back, McCutchin shows good ball skills, and has great range due to the long strides. Last season he had 27 tackles and one interception.

McCutchin was named the District 12-5A-I Offensive Newcomer of the Year in the competitive Texas system.

Alabama bested out both Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, which, according to McCutchin, were his second and third choices.
