Alabama receives verbal commitment from state’s top recruit

4-star outside linebacker Quandarrius Robinson announced decision to play for the Crimson Tide

Just a day after picking up its first commitment for the recruiting Class of 2021, the Alabama football team picked up a huge addition for 2020.

Quandarrius Robinson, a consensus 4-star outside linebacker from Jackson-Olin High School in Birmingham, announced his commitment on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Robinson is the No. 1 propsect in the state. He's also the No. 5 outside linebacker, and No. 53 overall recruit in the nation.

At a height of 6-foot-4 1/2 inches, Robinson has top-end length. The 217-pound rising Jackson-Olin senior can run a 4.60 40-yard dash, as well as has a vertical of 36.30 inches, according to stats recorded at Nike’s The Opening Regional in Atlanta earlier this year.

Robinson has developed into a quick pass rusher, but while able to maintain a presence downfield in pass coverage.

Assuming he's able to gain more mass, which appears to be the case with his frame, Robinson could be that ideal type of 'tweener player who is considered ideal against up-tempo spread offenses.

In his junior season at Jackson-Olin, Robinson recorded 40 tackles, with 13 being for a loss and eight sacks.

Robinson committed to the Crimson Tide over Auburn, Kentucky, Nebraska, Tennessee and other schools.

He is the Crimson Tide’s 20th commitment in the 2020 class.

With Robinson's addition, Alabama is set to sign the top four prospects in the state:
