Alabama men's basketball coach has apparently added another name to the Crimson Tide coaching staff.
Southfield Christian (Mich.) announced Tuesday that its head basketball coach Josh Baker has accepted a position to join Oats with the Crimson Tide. MLive.com reported that he'll serve as a special assistant to the head coach.
"The boys basketball program at Southfield Christian will have a new head coach next season," the Southfield Christian release stated. "Head Coach Josh Baker has recently accepted a position to join the basketball staff at the University of Alabama.
"Baker has made an incredible impact on the Eagles basketball program since taking over the reigns in 2011. In his eight seasons the team has gone 181-30, with a 97-1 conference record and 8 MIAC conference titles. The Eagles currently hold an 82 game winning streak in conference play dating back to January 2013. In the MHSAA postseason Baker’s teams have won 8 district titles, 6 regional titles, played 11 games at the Breslin Center and have won 5 state titles (2012, 2013, 2014, 2018, 2019)."
Baker told MLive.com: “Hopefully I can bring some value, too, and I’m thrilled to learn from him and then Charlie Henry, too,”“I’ll be able to learn from both of them and just pick their brains and learn everything I possibly can.”
