Practice report: Alabama gears up for Mississippi State

Crimson Tide back in full pads to prep for No. 18 Bulldogs

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — University of Alabama wide receivers Henry Ruggs III and DeVonta Smith were both in full pads as the Crimson Tide continued to prepare for Mississippi State on Tuesday afternoon.

Both were going through drills like normal during the media observation periods. Nick Saban said on Monday that both would be ready to go against the No. 18 Bulldogs (2:30 p.m., CT).

“Hopefully we can get that group a little bit more healthy as we go,” Saban said. “I think that's going to be important for us especially in a game like this.”

Junior quarterback Jalen Hurts (ankle), who did not play at LSU, remains limited. He and sophomore running back Najee Harris (ankle) would probably be listed as questionable on an NFL-style injury report.

Harris was at practice, but did not participate in all running back drills.

Notably absent was interior linebacker Joshua McMillon.

Conditions were sunny and 72 degrees

The forecast for the game is sunny and cool, with a high of 54 degrees.
