Quarterback de-commits from Alabama's recruiting Class of 2020

Consensus 4-star quarterback Carson Beck is taking a longer look at programs closer to his Jacksonville, Fla., home

According to numerous reports, consensus 4-star quarterback Carson Beck has re-opened his recruitment after being committed to Alabama since the summer.

However, he hasn't completely shut the door on ending up with the Crimson Tide.

Beck took unofficial visits to Florida and Miami over the weekend, with both schools hoping to flip the winner of the Mr. Football Award in Florida last season.

Former Crimson Tide quarterbacks coach Dan Enos, who is now the Hurricanes' offensive coordinator, was one of the primary recruiters of Beck for Alabama.

Dan Hicken of 1010XL-92.5 FM was first with the de-commitment.

Beck was the only commitment Alabama had at quarterback in 2020. At 6-foot-3, 214 pounds, out of Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, Fla., he's rated the No. 10 pro-style quarterback and the No. 240 overall player, per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Alabama has already signed two quarterbacks in the recruiting Class of 2019, Taulia Tagovailoa and Paul Tyson. National Signing Day is Wednesday.
