Quinnen Williams named the Walter Camp National Player of the Week on defense

Alabama nose tackle had a career game against LSU, with 10 tackles and 2.5 sacks

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama defensive lineman Quinnen Williams was named the Walter Camp Foundation's National Player of the Week on defense for his performance in the Crimson Tide’s 29-0 win at LSU on Saturday evening.

Williams posted career numbers against the then-No. 3 Tigers, with 10 tackles and 2.5 sacks, and tied his career best with 3.5 tackles for a loss.

He led an Alabama defense that limited LSU to 196 yards in total offense and kept the Tigers off the scoreboard for the first time this season. LSU was averaging 383.6 yards and 30.4 points per game coming into the contest.

Williams leads the Alabama defensive line in tackles this season with 43 to go with a team-high 12.0 tackles for loss (-49 yards) and 4.0 sacks (-26 yards). He's also second on the squad in quarterback hurries with nine to go with one pass breakup in 2018.
