11 former Alabama players invited to NFL Combine

Crimson Tide poised to have a double-digit number of players selected in NFL draft for the third-straight year.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The NFL Combine released the list of 338 players who were invited to this year's event in Indianapolis, including 11 former University of Alabama players.

The Crimson Tide was tied with the team it played in the National Championship game, Clemson, for the most.

The on-field workouts are scheduled to begin March 1.

The full list of Alabama invites:

  • Defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs
  • Running back Damien Harris
  • Running back Josh Jacobs
  • Linebacker Christian Miller
  • Offensive lineman Ross Pierschbacher
  • Tight end Irv Smith Jr.
  • Cornerback Saivion Smith
  • Safety Deionte Thompson
  • Tackle Jonah Williams
  • Defensive lineman Quinnen Williams
  • Linebacker Mack Wilson

Two notable players who were not invited were tight end Hale Hentges and offensive lineman Lester Cotton Sr.

Last year, the Tide led the nation with 14 former players invited, and eventually had 12 selected. Alabama is poised to have a double-digit number of players selected for the third-straight year.
