Bad news for ex-Cat Lauri Markkanen. His debut this season will be delayed. He averaged 15.2 points and 7.5 rebounds as a rookie with the Chicago Bulls last season, shooting 36.2 percent from behind the 3-point line.
He reached 100 career made 3-pointers in 41 games, faster than anyone in NBA history.
The Bulls open their regular season Oct. 18.
Markkanen was recently picked as the 17th-best player in the NBA under 25 years old, according to The Sporting News. In the same kind of list, CBSSports.com ranked him No. 21 under 25.
