In his fourth NBA game, former Arizona Wildcats big man Deandre Ayton got to share the court with LeBron James.
That didn't work out so well for Ayton's Phoenix Suns, who lost 131-113 at home for the Lakers' first win with LeBron. But Ayton had his third double-double in his first four games, finishing with 22 points, 11 rebounds, three blocked shots and three assists ... and then the first pick in the NBA Draft was on the receiving end of one big compliment.
"He has a lot of talent," James said after the game. "He's going to continue to get better and better. They chose right."
And Lakers' coach Luke Walton, a former Wildcat, also was impressed.
Ayton was told about those comments in the locker room.
"I appreciate the love," Ayton said. "Hearing that from LeBron is amazing."
