Exhibition basketball season is little more than a chance for industrious fans to get familiar with their team’s new faces.
As such, invested Lady Bears fans have plenty of reasons to show up for these early-season outings as Baylor boasts the nation’s top freshman class.
That group lived up to its billing as the freshmen led the way in the Lady Bears’ 127-61 trouncing of Texas A&M-Commerce on Thursday night at the Ferrell Center.
Freshman forward Queen Egbo filled up the basket, going for a game-high 24 points and adding 6 assists, 9 rebounds and 2 steals.
Another one of the Lady Bears’ fab five freshman, guard Honesty Scott-Grayson, pitched in 16 points with 4 assists.
But it wasn’t just freshmen newcomers who showed out for the Baylor faithful. Graduate transfer Chloe Jackson, who came over from LSU, led the Lady Bears with seven assists and a pair of blocks.
Lady Bears senior center Kalani Brown did her thing, scoring 15 points and grabbing 7 rebounds in just 17 minutes of action. She and Brown led the charge as Baylor scored an amazing 84 points in the paint.
