Iowa State Players to Watch

The Baylor Bears travel to Ames, Iowa, to take on the Iowa State Cyclones at 2:30 CT on Saturday afternoon.

Iowa State’s home-field advantage will be compounded by the weather as temperatures are expected to be below freezing.

Here are a few Cyclones who could challenge the Bears:

DE JaQuan Bailey is currently approaching the school’s career sack record of 18. He currently has 16 after Iowa State’s win over Kansas. He has 5.5 sacks and 25 total tackles this season.

DB Greg Eisworth, a Texas native from Grand Prairie, has proved to be one the most productive players for Iowa State’s defense. He has 62 total tackles with a sack, a forced fumble and an interception.

QB Brock Purdy has not lost a game since taking over for Zeb Noland. Purdy has passed for 1,085 yards and 12 touchdown passes and rushed for another 196 and a TD, not bad for four games of work.

WR Hakeem Butler has been Purdy’s favorite target, for obvious reasons. The 6-foot-6 Butler has 33 receptions for 791 receiving yards this season. He's averaging an impressive 24 yards per catch and has three-straight 100-yard games.

RB David Montgomery is the top-graded returning player in the Big 12 according to Pro Football Focus. He is known for his powerful dynamic movement and ability to break tackles. He has 712 rushing yards and 6 TDs so far this season.
