Cal Basketball: Drexel Graduate Transfer Reportedly Considering Cal

Cal one of six schools targeting forward Alihan Demir

Cal is one of six schools that Drexel graduate transfer Alihan Demir is considering in his possible move, according to a tweet by Jon Rothstein.

The other schools interested in Demir are Minnesoata, Marquette, Miami, Nebraska and Kansas State. Demir is scheduled to visit Kansas State on Sunday and has already visited Minnesota.

The 6-foot-9, 232-pound Demir is a forward who averaged 14.8 points on 51.2 percent shooting in 2018-19 and he also had 6.4 rebounds per game and 2.9 assists. Drexel had a 13-19 record this past season, finishing 7-11 in the Colonial Athletic Association.

As a graduate transfer, Demir would be eligible to play immediately.,

Cal could use another big man, especially if 7-foot3 freshman Connor Vanover, who is in the transfer portal, opts to transfer elsewhere. However, the report that Demir is visiting Kansas State sugests he has signficiant interest in joining the Wildcats.
