Cal Basketball: Drexel Transfer Who Was Considering Cal Commits to Minnesota

Alihan Demir goes to the Gophers

Drexel graduate transfer Alihan Demir reportedly had Cal among the schools he was considering for a possible transfer, but Jon Rothstein reported that Demir has committed to Minnesota.

There is no way of knowing at this point how serious Cal coach Mark Fox was in his recruitment of Demir.

Marquette, Miami, Nebraska, Kansas State were the other schools besides Cal and Minnesota that reportedly had shown an interest in Demir.

The 6-foot-9, 232-pound Demir is a forward who averaged 14.8 points on 51.2 percent shooting in 2018-19, and he also had 6.4 rebounds per game and 2.9 assists. Drexel had a 13-19 record this past season, finishing 7-11 in the Colonial Athletic Association.
