The Pac-12 has made it to the weekend with two teams still alive in the NCAA tournament.
Can Oregon or Washington make it to Week 2?
We provide you definitive information in our picks below. Enjoy.
This week: Jeff 2-1, Jake 2-1
Season: Jeff 90-31, Jake 79-42
Sunday at Columbus, Ohio
No. 9 Washington (27-8) vs. No. 1 North Carolina (28-6), 11:40 a.m. (CBS)
Jake: Yes, the Huskies’ zone defense seemed to confound Utah State, and it may bother the Tar Heels for a while, too. Ultimately, though, North Carolina will figure it out and its talent will take over. Washington’s weakness is rebounding, and that is North Carolina’s strength. Pick: North Carolina
Jeff: Washington ranks No. 30 nationally in scoring defense but North Carolina is No 3 in scoring offense. Don’t see the Huskies scoring enough to get over the top. Pick: North Carolina
Sunday at San Jose
No. 13 UC Irvine (31-5) vs. No. 12 Oregon (24-12), 6:40 p.m. (TBS)
Jake: Irvine’s win over Kansas State was impressive, but Oregon is on a serious roll. The Ducks have won eight straight, and the last two victories over Washington and Wisconsin were by margins of 20 and 18 points. Irvine is probably still celebrating its win over K-State, while Oregon is looking for bigger things. Pick: Oregon
Jeff: The Anteaters have won 17 straight games, they have depth, experience and they are brimming with confidence. But Oregon is on a different level athletically, especially Kenny Wooten and his spectacular ability to play above the rim. Pick: Oregon
