Four quarterfinal games are on tap today as the Pac-12 tournament begins to get serious

Everything went according to form in the first round of the Pac-12 tournament.

That is, I picked all four games correctly.

All four higher-seeded teams prevailed Wednesday, setting up today’s quarterfinal round. The games get a bit tougher from now on, but that’s why out picks are invaluable to you.

Wednesday: Jeff 4-0, Jake 2-2

Season: Jeff 81-30, Jake 72-39

No. 8 USC (16-16, 8-10) vs. No. 1 Washington (24-7, 15-3), noon (Pac-12 Networks)

Jake: Washington may need to win a game to ensure a spot in the NCAA Tournament, but Huskies are sputtering and Trojans are dangerous. Pick: USC

Jeff: It’s true the Huskies were just two plays from being on an 0-4 run entering the Pac-12 tournament. It’s also true they already had basically locked up the regular-season title by then and probably eased off the gas. Pick: Washington

No. 5 Colorado (20-11, 10-8) vs. No. 4 Oregon State (18-12, 10-8), 2:30 p.m. (Pac-12 Networks)

Jake: The Buffaloes seem to have it going now, and having played a game this week may help. Oregon State won by two in their only regular-season meeting. Pick: Colorado

Jeff: Colorado has won seven of nine, OSU has lost four of six. The Buffaloes were less than impressive against Cal but these teams appear to be headed in opposite directions. Pick: Colorado

No. 7 UCLA (27-15, 9-9) vs. No. 2 Arizona State (21-9, 12-6), 6 p.m. (Pac-12)

Jake: Two erratic teams meet in a game that could go any number of ways. The Sun Devils need it more for postseason hopes. Pick: Arizona State

Jeff: Remy Martin, the heart and soul of the Su Devils, ought to be furious he wasn’t name to the All-Pac-12 first team. He’s ready to take it out on the Bruins. Pick: Arizona State

No. 6 Oregon (20-12, 10-8) vs. No. 3 Utah (17-13, 11-7), 8:30 p.m. (ESPN)

Jake: Oregon has won five straight and blew out Washington State by 33 points on Wednesday. Pick: Oregon

Jeff: No coach in the Pac-12 is more underrated than Utah’s Larry Krystkowiak. But the Ducks are beginning to look like they could run the table in Vegas. Pick: Oregon
