CAL-ARIZONA HISTORY: Cal leads the alltime series 36-30 and has won the last five meetings with the Wildcats. Cal is 22-1 in the last 23 games against Arizona, whose only win in that stretch was a 57-52 victory in Tucson during the 2015-16 season. The Bears beat Arizona in Tucson 53-51 last season.
CAL STORYLINES: This will be Cal’s first game away from home since its Dec. 8 overtime victory over Saint Mary’s. . . . The Bears are 4-0 in games away from home, including 2-0 in games on their opponent’s home court . . . Cal ended a three-game losing streak by beating USC 66-59 on Sunday . . . Senior Kristine Anigwe had 21 points and 16 rebounds against the Trojans. She is third in the Pac-12 in scoring (22.1 points per game) and leads the nation in rebounding (13.9 per game). Anigwe is from Phoenix, Ariz. . . . Guard Asha Thomas has made 41.9 percent of her three-point shots over the past five games, and she leads the Pac-12 in free-throw percentage (87.5).
ARIZONA STORYLINES: Arizona already has twice as many wins this season (12) as it had all of last season (6). . . .The Wildcats’ Aari McDonald leads the Pac-12 in scoring, averaging 25.4 points per game. She had 34 points in Sunday’s loss at Utah, which halted Arizona’s 11-game winning streak. McDonald is a transfer who began her college career at Washington and is in her first season with the Wildcats . . . Freshman Cate Reese is the team’s No. 2 scorer at 11.9 points per game, but she did not score against Utah. . . The Wildcats are 7-1 at home, the only loss coming against Loyola Marymount on Nov. 13.
