Cal Football: Bears Get 7th Commitment for 2020 -- QB Zach Johnson

Johnson attends same high school that produced Kyle Boller

Cal received its seventh commitment for the class of 2020 as dual-threat quarrterback Zach Johnson of Hart High School in Newhall, Calif., announced on Twitter that he has committed to Cal.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Johnson attends the same high school that produced Kyle Boller, a former Cal quarterback who eventually was taken in the first round of the NFL Draft. Cal legend Joe Kapp and Golden Bears four-time gold medal Olympic swimmer Anthony Ervin also attended Hart.

Johnson is rated a three-star recruit by 247Sports.com, and is not ranked among the nation's top 1,000 recruits for the class of 2020. According to that site, William and Mary was the only other school that offered Johnson a scholarship.

Johnson reportedly has completed 62 percent of his passes for 2,892 yards and 30 touchdowns, while rushing for 347 yards.

Johnson's commitment comes one day after Cal received a verbal commitment from wide receiver Tommy Christakos.
