Cal Football: Bears Pick Up 10th Commitment for Class of 2020 -- TE Jake Muller

Muller represents Cal's third commitment this week

Cal received its third commitment of the week when Jake Muller, a tight end from Mission Viejo, Calif., announced on Twitter Saturday that he has verbally committed to Cal.

The 6-foot-5, 220-pound Muller, who attends Capistrano Valley High School, is Cal’s 10th commitment from the class of 2020.

Muller chose Cal after also getting a scholarship offer from Utah State, according to Rivals.com. Tight end is becoming a major part of the Cal offense under head coach Justin Wilcox and offenive coordinator Beau Baldwin.

Rivals.com gave Muller a 5.5 grade. He is not ranked among the nation’s top 250 recruits in the class of 2020 by Rivals.com, which rates him the No. 99 recruit in the state of California.

The 247Sports website labels Muller as a three-star recruit and ranks him outside its top 1,000 recruits in the nation, but tabs him as the country’s No. 58 tight end prospect.

Earlier this week, Cal received commitments from linebacker Muelu Iosefa and defensive tackle Stanley McKenzie.
