Neither was on the coaches' first-team all-conference squad released earlier this week

Cal linebackers Evan Weaver and Jordan Kunaszyk switched places on the Associated Press all-Pac-12 team released on Thursday.

In the all-conference team voted on by the coaches earlier this week, Kunaszyk was named to the first-team defense and Weaver was placed on the second team. But in the AP all-Pac-12 squad chosen by media members, Weaver was a first-team selection and Kunaszyk was on the second team.

Weaver finished second in the conference in tackles with 143, 10 ahead of Kunaszyk, who was third in the Pac-12. Weaver also had 4.5 sacks, 9.0 tackles for loss, two interceptions, and six passes knocked down. Kunaszyk had 11 tackles for loss, 4.0 sacks and no interceptions, but forced five fumbles.

The other AP first-team selection from Cal was safety Ashtyn Davis, who was not on the first-team or second-team all-conference team selected by the coaches. Davis tied for the conference lead in interceptions with four and was third on the team in tackles.

Cal’s Cam Bynum was a second-team pick at cornerback in the AP selections.

Washington State quarterback Gardner Minshew II was named Pac-12 offensive player of the year.
