One of the top recruits in the nation, Zach Charbonnet enrolled in Michigan in early 2019 (mid-year) to hit the ground running in spring ball. Despite his non participation in spring practice due to an existing medical condition that Michigan knew about prior to his enrolling, Zach has been impressing with the mental reps he's been taking at practice.
Young athletes often have trouble staying focused throughout their first experience in a big university practice regimen. However, coaches have been impressed with the dedication of this young talent.
"We love Zach," (Jay Harbaugh, RB coach, March 18) "He’s doing everything he can. He started in a chair, he was lifting and doing all this sitting-down exercises, ropes he’d be sitting down in a chair doing. He’s doing everything he could possibly do."
Many of his teammates have also praised Zach's interest in their positions. He's shown the desire to understand the game as a whole, which will pay dividends when it finally comes time to pad up in practice.
