While the #11 Michigan State Spartans are marching towards another season of high expectations, one of their most famous alumni is in the news. Of course, people know that Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors are in the midst of another potential world title, but ICONIC NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley had some tough words for the ICONIC Spartan.
Barkley said at halftime"> after Draymond Green and Rajon Rondo got into a feud in a recent playoff game that, "I just want somebody to punch him in the face.” Those of us who know and love Green were well aware that the Spartan star wouldn't stand for that.
Green when asked invited Barkley too, "Fact of the matter is if you feel that strongly about something, he’s even seen me a million times, then punch me in my face when you see me. If you’re not going to punch me in my face when you see me, then shut up."
Well, now Barkley has backed off of his criticism after Green punched back. Verbally. Barkley now has apologized. He went on ESPN 1000 in Chicago and said, "I want to apologize to Draymond Green,” Barkley said. “I wasn’t literally gonna fight an NBA player and if he took it like that, I want to apologize. Just because I said something that I shouldn’t have said, I want to be man enough to apologize. I was 100 percent wrong.”
We all know that Green being at the center of controversy isn't over, but he is a Spartan and one of our own.
