Former Spartan Guard Keith Appling Rewarded for Relentless Work with NBA Contract with the Orlando Magic & Scott Skiles

East Lansing

Don’t tell Keith Appling that talented players are entitled and lack a work ethic. The former four year Spartan star lit up the NBA Development league this past season and got an invitation for that performance to play for the Orlando Magic’s NBA summer team.

Not one to waste opportunity, Appling parlayed that chance with a terrific performance that saw the Spartan star average nearly 16 points per game and three assists. That demonstration was rewarded as Appling and the Magic have agreed to a two year, partially guaranteed deal with the Magic.

Appling was undrafted out of MSU and saw an opportunity fade with the LA Lakers because of injury. Appling will be united with a former Spartan Dawg as the Magic have hired former Spartan ICON Scott Skiles as their head coach.
