East Lansing, Mich. –  Former Michigan State men's basketball player Matt McQuaid (Duncanville, Texas/Duncanville) has been selected to play in the 2019 Professional Basketball Combine from May 21-22 at the Mamba Sports Academy in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

The Professional Basketball Combine is a secondary draft combine designed to give players an opportunity to showcase their talents in hopes of being selected to play professional basketball.  Each player who attends has the opportunity to participate in workouts, combine testing, attend personal development workshops and interview with NBA general managers and scouts, as well as G-League personnel and overseas opportunities.

McQuaid helped lead Michigan State to the NCAA Final Four this past season, a nation's-best eighth appearance in the last 20 years.  The Spartans finished the season with a 32-7 record, won the Big Ten Tournament Championship and posted a 16-4 mark in the Big Ten to share the regular season title.

One of the team's co-captains, McQuaid finished fifth on the team in scoring with 9.8 points per game, while adding 3.0 assists and 1.9 assists.  He connected on a team-best 42.2 percent of his 3-point attempts (73-of-173), which ranked third in the Big Ten.  In Big Ten play, McQuaid averaged 10.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists, while connecting on 43.0 percent of his 3-point attempts (tied for sixth in the league).

McQuaid was an honorable mention All-Big Ten selection by both the media and the coaches and was selected to the All-Defensive Team.  In addition, he was the recipient of the team's John E. Benington Defensive Player of the Year Award, the third-straight year he has at least been a co-recipient of the award.

He finished his Michigan State career averaging 6.3 points, 1.6 assists and 1.4 rebounds in 140 career games. McQuaid ranks eighth all-time in 3-point field goals made (194), seventh in 3-point attempts (492) and tied for seventh all-time in career games played (140).

The Professional Basketball Combine has seen nine players signed to two-way contracts, 23 NBA Summer League invitations and one who was named the G-League Rookie of the Year.
