Michigan State DB Jermaine Edmondson's status with the team was tenuous at best prior to his run in with Draymond Green over the weekend. That has been greatly clarified. Per a Michigan State press release the situation has clarity now:
Michigan State head football coach Mark Dantonio has announced that senior cornerback Jermaine Edmondson has requested and been granted a full release to play his final year of eligibility at a different school.
MSU head coach Mark Dantonio:
“In discussions with Jermaine Edmondson following spring practice and in the weeks thereafter, it became clear that Jermaine wanted to play a larger role on the team. After consulting with him in the summer, he felt it was in his best interest to finish his playing career elsewhere. We have granted his immediate release to transfer to another institution to have that opportunity.”
Green was arrested on Sunday night at 2:28 AM after his altercation with Edmondson. Edmondson claimed to police that Green, "Punched" him, while officers who were at the scene claimed to see a, "Slap." Per the police, Green had a .10 blood alcohol level upon arrest.
