Oregon hires Kenny Sanders as Director of Recruiting

Sanders comes to Oregon by way of Penn State, where he was the assistant director of player personnel

With the 2019 recruiting cycle complete, the Ducks have now turned their attention to the 2020 class of recruits. Helping in those battle for the top players in the country will be Kenny Sanders, who announced on twitter that he was set to become Oregon’s new Director of Recruiting.

Sanders comes to Oregon by way of Penn State where he served as assistant director of player personnel under head coach James Franklin. With the help of Sanders, Penn State signed a top-15 class each of the previous three seasons, ranking 15th in 2017, 6th in 2018 and 13th this season.

Sanders is widely expected to help keep Oregon’s momentum going under head coach Mario Cristobal, who just inked the nation’s No. 7 class in 2019 and is in good position for another big 2020 cycle.

The position was open because Stephen Field announced that he was leaving Oregon to take over the same position at Louisville — he eventually left Louisville for a more involved role at Miami.
