So, a USC kid dropped a touchdown pass right in his stomach last week that cost Rankman the “over” bet against UCLA. I mean the ball hit him right in the Tummy Trojan. Whadda ya gonna do? That biscuit-in-the-basket drop cost me a win-it-all-back, 7-3 week that would have put me plus-two over .500 for the season. Most often a 6-4 weekend would be welcomed at the TMG sports book but not when you’re trying to make up for lost dimes. Last week’s whiff of success, however, only leads me to this week’s treasure trove of Thanksgiving games. I’m going all in, again, betting 10 games with every fake dollar left in my Swear Jar. My games are Michigan-Ohio State, Notre Dame-USC, Kentucky-Louisville, Western Michigan-Toledo, plus six over-under bets.[membership level="0"] The rest of this article is available to subscribers only - to become a subscriber click here.[/membership] [membership]
The game: Michigan getting 6 at OHIO STATE
The pick: Michigan (score: Ohio State 24-21)
The comment: I think Ohio State is the better team but that Jim Harbaugh will have Michigan prepared enough to keep this within the spread.
The game: Notre Dame getting 17 1\2 at USC
The pick: Notre Dame (score: USC 36-20)
The comment: I was surprised USC didn’t put 50 on UCLA last week and Notre Dame, despite its record, is better than UCLA. The Irish are under siege this week with the latest NCAA sanctions and will rally to the “cover” cause.
The game: Kentucky getting 26 at LOUISVILLE
The pick: Kentucky: (score, Louisville 50-26)
The comment: I know Louisville will be in revenge mode after last week’s loss to Houston, but isn’t Kentucky still an SEC team coming off a big win over, um, Austin Peay?
WESTERN MICHIGAN giving 9 versus Toledo
The pick: Western Michigan 40-28
The comment: WMU is playing at home for a possible major bowl berth. If you can’t win by more than nine points with that kind of motivation, well…
Arizona State at Arizona (68 1\2)
Oregon at Oregon State (71 1\2)
Washington at Washington State (64 1\2)
South Carolina at Clemson (50)
Wyoming at New Mexico (71)
UCLA at Cal (71 1\2)
Last week: 6-4
