Outlook: Since it's the South Regional, we figure there will be some hot teams. Virginia has been the No. 1 ranked team in the country for most of the season, Tennessee and Kentucky have emerged as the top teams in the SEC, Arizona, embroiled in controversy, has taken a circle the wagons mentality and is beating up everyone and Cincinnati just beats teams game after game after game.
So who's going to emerge. Let's start with Virginia. The Cavs' lost guard De'Andre Hunter, who was voted the ACC's Sixth Man of the Year, with wrist injury....Oops. The Cavs can probably get by UMBC and either Creighton or Kansas State, but that could be the end of the season when they should face the Wildcats.
Either that will be No. 3 Arizona or No. 4 Kentucky. We have faith in Coach Cal and Kentucky.
In the bottom half of the bracket, Cincinnati is tough enough to get to Atlanta with victories over Georgia State and either Nevada or Texas. Loyola (Chicago) is dangerous and good enough to beat Miami. But Loyola won't be able to handle Tennessee
A Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Cincinnati regional is Chalk City. We think the Wildcats will prevail.
Upset Specials: Loyola over Miami, Texas over Nevada
Moving to Atlanta: Virginia,. Kentucky, Tennessee, Cincinnati
Regional Champ: Kentucky
