You want an eight-team playoff? Here you go

Three quick thoughts on the new CFP Rankings:

1--For Everybody who has been bellowing for an eight-team playoff....Well Bubba, it starts this Saturday:

No. 1 Georgia (9-0) at No. 10 Auburn (7-2)

No. 2 Alabama (9-0) at No. 16 Mississippi State (7-2)

No. 3 Notre Dame (8-1) at No. 7 Miami (8-0)

Unranked Florida State (3-5) at No. 4 Clemson (8-1)

No. 6 TCU (8-1) at No. 5 Oklahoma (8-1)

No. 20 Iowa (6-3) at No. 8 Wisconsin (9-0)

No. 9 Washington (8-1) at unranked Stanford (6-3)

Happy now?

2--Wisconsin can't be real happy at No. 8. Wisconsin athletics director Barry Alvarez has already started lobbying because he's concerned that a Badger team that finishes 13-0 and wins the Big Ten championship could get left out. He's right to be concerned. At least Wisconsin is finally going to play a ranked team in No. 20 Iowa. Wisconsin still has regular season games with Michigan (7-2) and Minnesota (4-5) before the Big Ten championship game.

3--At No. 10 Auburn is the highest ranked two-loss team and should be. The Tigers have their entire season in front of them. They host No. 1 Georgia this Saturday and No. 2 Alabama on Nov. 25. Win them both and Auburn advances to the SEC championship game where it will face Georgia again. Run that gauntlet and win the SEC championship and the committee has to put them in.
